Count the number of times you wanted to buy or upgrade a Smartphone, but kept it away just because of the sheer amount of data that needs to be transferred. And had it been two different operating systems, then it’s just adds to the time for decision making for moving to next phone. We would like to bring down these concerns to a good degree and hence though of focusing on the topic of moving files from android phone to iPhone. Since Apple would be releasing the new iPhone soon, guess this should be helpful and nice for many.
Through PC or laptop: Well, this is one of the easiest ways to get it done. You just need to export all your files to the PC or laptop and then get these files synchronized through iTunes into the iphone. Not all files and file formats can get transferred in this fashion due to restrictions by Apple(Yes, they are pretty stringent). But it’s worth a try. But it works most of the times for images and most of the video formats.
Bump application: In the world of mobile applications Bump is one of those application you simply cannot afford to miss. It remains one of the best sought out bluetooth sharing application for both android and iphone. There is no need of internet connectivity and one needs to have the bump application installed in both the android based phone and iPhone.
For transferring the files, first launch the application and setup connection between both the devices. Then, select the category button for file type from the android phone and then hit the files to be transferred. Accept the files on iphone by tapping the “Accept” button and the transfer would complete in no time. We see that most times, all files could be transmitted with ease with Bump application. But we do like to caution that, it’s not necessary that the files will open or behave in the same manner as in android. Some of the third party tools had their functionalities limited when transferred to iphone.Guess; those would be taken care in near future by Apple and for all the best cellphones out in market.
Hoccer: Unlike Bump, one needs internet connectivity for this data sharing application.Hoccer is capable of sharing any file with any phone. There are no registration charges or storage requirements for the application. Hoccer is based on geo location and as such would need the location details for both devices. But if both devices are connected to same network, transmission is pretty fast. Hoccer has good online support system as well.
Dropbox: Like Hoccer, another application which needs internet connectivity. However, for transmitting files between the devices, you would two drop box accounts-one for sending and another for receiving. The dropbox account used for sending, needs to have a folder which is to shared. The Drop box account used on receiving side, will need to first get an invite for the share and then would be able to access and store the files.
AirBlus sharing (If Iphone is jailbroken): Well, this one works for jailbroken iphones. In Cydia, the application Airbus sharing is available .It method is capable of transferring most of the file types with a good speed using bluetooth technology. Transferring files both ways is very much possible with Air bus sharing as it is a universal file sharing method.
SD card: Well, another simple technique for transferring. Export the files from android based phone to SD card. Transfer the contents of SD card to a PC or laptop. Using the Icloud application, the files could then be transferred to iTunes and then to the iphone. But please do remember on the restrictions imposed by Apple. Not all files or files types will work with this technique.
Check out the Google play and iStore!: Well, applications are coming up all the time. New software or upgraded software are always springing up in Google play and iStore. So always check at these places as well.
