Looking Into the ViewsonicViewPad 10 and Lenovo IdeaPad tablet A1

The introduction of the iPad was the starting point in the boom in the demand for tablet PCs. Since its introduction to the public in 2010, the iPad has enjoyed brisk sales.  This is the reason why other computer manufacturers were convinced that the time was right for more tablet PCs to be made available to the public.

Tablet PCs are being introduced left and right to the delight of consumers.  Everyone thinks that competition is healthy because it will drive down prices of the product.  True enough, there have been more affordable and cheaper tablet PCs made available for sale.  These tablet PCs have been giving some people the idea to sell used iPad and change brands.  But then, are they really worthy of your money?

ViewsonicViewPad 10

This tablet PC belongs to the type of tablets with larger touch screens.  This 10.1 inch tablet PC running on Android 2.2 Froyo was released sometime 2011.  The processor is an NVIDIA Tegra 2 with 1.5 GHz and 1 GB memory.  Internal storage is between 16 GB and 32 GB.  It is relatively lightweight at less than 2 lbs with a capacitive touchscreen  with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels.  Battery life can last up to 5 hours depending on the usage.  The nice thing about this device is that it has a 3G network connectivity capacity and can be used as a mobile phone too. It also has the requisite front and back facing cameras as well as an HDMI port and Bluetooth connectivity.

Based on the initial specifications, you may think that this tablet can give the iPad a run for its money. It has fairly impressive hardware and software components.  The price is, of course, cheaper than the iPad as it is under $200. If you are looking for an option for a tablet PC other than the iPad, you might want to include this in your short list.

Lenovo IdeaPad Tablet A1

Another tablet PC coming from a well-known brand is the IdeaPad A1.  Lenovo has already made a name for itself as a manufacturer of reliable PCs and laptops.  Now that they have forayed into the tablet PC market, you can be sure that they will bring with them their expertise.  This is another PC that will make you want to sell your iPad and change to this.

The IdeaPad A1 is a 7-inch tablet PC running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It has a single core 1 GHz processor with 512 MB memory.  Internal storage is quite large at 64GB with an option to expand via the microSD card slot. The screen is a capacitive touchscreen with 1024 x 600 pixel resolution.  Network connections include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.  This tablet PC does carry the capacity for 3G networks as well so it can also double as a mobile phone.  It also has both front and back facing cameras.  For the price of $200, this tablet PC is quite a good steal.

If you are contemplating whether to sell used iPad and shop for a new and more affordable tablet PC, the ViewsonicViewPad 10 and Lenovo IdeaPad A1 are good options.  You can include them in your list of devices to consider. Since they come from well known brands, you can be assured of the good build quality of the products.
